Hello, I’m John

I paint nature, mostly trees and water. Rivers winding through marsh grass, waterfalls in autumn, old twisted trees, a moon caught in the branches. I paint in acrylic with a loose, textured hand and sign each one with a small JH in the corner.

When I’m not at the easel, I’m carving wood. And like every good family, ours runs on recipes handed down at the stove, so I’ve written some of them out here too, to share with love. Take whatever you like.

Nothing here is for sale. It’s all just to enjoy.
